Built inside the sport. Not outside it.
Aqualytix wasn't created in a boardroom.
It wasn't built by a venture-backed tech company looking for another subscription market.
It was built by a water polo player and coach who saw a problem, and decided to fix it.
Most video analysis platforms weren't designed for water polo. They were designed for profit margins.
Aqualytix is different.
Disrupt overpriced, profit-driven analysis software, and give control back to coaches.
For years, coaches haven't even considered video analysis because software costs £500–£1000 per year.
For most water polo clubs that's just not affordable
That pricing model doesn't grow the sport, it limits it.
Aqualytix exists to challenge that.
Elite tools shouldn't require elite budgets
Technology should serve the sport, not extract from it
Coaches deserve access, not barriers
This isn't about maximising revenue.
It's about maximising impact.
I'm Ruaridh, a water polo player and coach from Scotland.
I've been playing for over a decade and coaching for more than three years. I've seen the sport at grassroots level. I've seen the funding struggles. I've seen how much volunteer coaches give up in time and money to make this sport run.
Water polo isn't driven by corporate money.
It's driven by people who care.
In 2025, I had the opportunity to travel to Greece as Assistant Coach for the Scotland Under-18s.
There, I saw video analysis used properly.
The impact was undeniable:
That year became one of the most successful in Scotland U18 history.
The difference wasn't talent.
It was clarity.
Video analysis works.
When I came home, I wanted to bring that same structure into my own teams.
Then I looked at the pricing.
per year.
For software built by companies with no real connection to water polo, just another sport to monetise.
That's not growth.
That's gatekeeping.
So instead of complaining about it, I started building.
Since then, I've been developing Aqualytix, a focused, water polo-first platform that delivers the functionality coaches actually use:
Without the inflated enterprise pricing.
No unnecessary complexity.
Just what coaches need.
Aqualytix isn't trying to become the next Silicon Valley SaaS giant.
It's built to be:
Sustainable
Affordable
Community-driven
I'm not trying to extract maximum profit from the sport.
I'm trying to cover development costs, keep improving the platform, and help more players benefit from technology I've seen change teams.
Because the sport deserves better.
We're not here to copy existing platforms.
We're here to change expectations.
Professional-grade analysis, priced for real clubs not maximum profit.
Every feature is shaped by lived experience inside water polo.
When players understand the game, performance accelerates.
It's a shift in how technology should work for our sport.
Built inside the community.
Priced for the community.
Driven by impact - not profit.
